  1. Arbor Day Poster Contest - Deadline

    April 7, 2021 - 4:30 PM

    The City of Chanhassen and the Environmental Commission invites you to participate in the Chanhassen Arbor Day poster contest. To honor Arbor Day, Chanhassen residents of any age are encouraged to create a poster celebrating the day and its intent. This year’s poster theme is “Trees are Terrific In Chanhassen!” Submittals can be drawn in marker, crayon, watercolor, ink, acrylic, colored pencil, or tempera paint and should be no larger than 11x17 inches. Be sure to include the theme in writing in your drawing. Please write your name, address, and contact information on the back of the poster. The deadline to enter posters is Wednesday, April 7, 2021. Ten winners will be selected to receive a tree-themed gift pack.   2. Small Fry Soccer

    April 7, 2021, 5:00 PM - 5:45 PM @ Rec Center

    An exciting program to provide 3 & 4-year-olds the opportunity to develop large motor skills and learn about sports. Each sport will focus on skill development, fundamentals, and good sportsmanship through interactive games and drills. One reciprocal teammate request will be honored when teams are formed. Chan Rec Center participants will receive a Chan Rec Center sports t-shirt. Note: Children must be out of diapers to participate.

  3. Beginners Pilates Mat Class

    Pilates uses precise movements to build strength, mental focus, and control. Each exercise is rooted in spinal movement and stabilization. Exercises are done lying on the back, lying on the side, prone or seated. Please wear comfortable exercise clothing and bring a mat. $12 Drop-ins available if capacity permits.

  4. Beginners' Pilates Mat Class - Session 2

    Pilates uses precise movements to build strength, mental focus and control. Each exercise is rooted in spinal movement or spinal stabilization. Limbs are used as weights as well as tests of coordination, balance and flexibility. Exercises are done lying on your back, lying on your side, prone, or seated. Please wear comfortable clothing meant for exercise and bring a mat. This class is designed specifically for students new to Pilates practice who are interested in discovering what it is all about.   5. Lil' Star Soccer

    April 7, 2021, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM @ Rec Center

    A fun-filled, 5-week program designed for 5 & 6-year-olds. Skilled Chan Rec Center staff and volunteer parent coaches will lead participants in drills and help with gameplay. The focus is on fundamental skill development, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. All participants will receive a Chan Rec Center Sports t-shirt along with a medal and certificate on the last day. Will be played outdoors if weather permits. Ages 5 & 6.

    Get a kick out of line dancing! This may be the most fun workout ever. Dance to great music with great people, and burn a ton of calories without even realizing it. $12 Drop-ins as capacity allows. No class 3/31.

  2. Mah Jongg for Beginners

    April 7, 2021, 10:30 AM @ Chanhassen Senior Center

    Instructor Melinda Colwell teaches the modern western version of this timeless, brain-enhancing tiled game. Each participant will start with their own set (bring your own or call to reserve a set) and progress into group gameplay as safety measures allow. Following the six-week instructions, participants will be encouraged to continue weekly play to hone their skills. Class size is limited.

    Continuous gameplay for up to 2 hours. Cost is .25 per game using disposable paper cards. Players must either bring their own marker/dobber or purchase one at the beginning of play. Please bring small sandwich baggies in which to place your game coins.
