Dear Chanhassen Residents,
I hope that everyone had a wonderful 4th of July. It was great to see so many of you at the Chanhassen Celebration! Thank you again to our incredible staff, particularly the Parks & Recreation team, Park Maintenance, Public Works crew, Chanhassen Fire Department, and the Carver County Sheriff’s Office for your exceptional event execution. A big thank you to the Chanhassen Rotary, the many sponsors, local businesses, and all our residents for making it another amazing community event.
Avienda Village Development
On Monday, City Council approved the final plat for the Avienda Development. Located off Lyman Blvd., Powers Blvd., and Hwy 212, this highly anticipated, regional development has been in the works for seven years. We are thrilled to see it moving forward. For updates, meetings, and project specific information, please sign up online by clicking on the
“Notify Me” button. Site plan approval will still come before both the Planning Commission and City Council as development progresses.
Lock Your Vehicles to Prevent TheftIn partnership with the Carver County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), we want to remind our residents to
keep your cars locked, valuables out of sight, and garage doors shut and locked as we have seen an uptick in crimes of opportunity. The CCSO has focused patrol in neighborhoods during the overnight hours. Please be diligent and report any suspicious activity to the Carver County Sheriff's Office at 911 if an emergency, or to the non-emergency CCSO line at 952.361.1231.
Budget DiscussionsCity Council has begun our 2022 budget discussions. As you recall, we underwent an
extensive financial review over the last nine months. This new, comprehensive short and long-term planning will be at the center of our discussions over the next six months before setting the final levy for 2022 in December.
Thank you for your emails and phone calls – I am glad to be connected. Warmest Regards,
Elise Ryan
