Minnewashta Parkway Update
As was posted in last week’s update, the water main within the current phase has passed testing and the contractor has been working to get homes back off of the above ground temporary water system and back to the normal underground water system.
The maintenance work for the lift station near Kings Rd and the replacement of the adjoining sanitary forcemain has been completed as of today.
Concrete work in association with the trail from Red Cedar Point Rd to Kings Rd will occur next week and paving the week after - weather permitting. Next week, the construction crew will also grade and prepare the gravel from Red Cedar Point Rd to Kings Rd in preparation for paving the following week.
The next phase of temporary water has been laid out and is being tested for the residents north of Glendale Dr to the south side of Linden Cir. This section of water can’t be activated until it has passed bacteria testing. Once it has passed the required testing the contractor will begin moving residents over to the system.
The contractor plans to consolidate materials and equipment for the weekend. This will help facilitate walking and driving during the long weekend and give the public improved access to the beach and park for the holiday weekend. Please have a happy and safe July 4th holiday weekend!
