Dear Chanhassen Residents,
Road construction season is upon us. While we do our best to limit any inconveniences, we do have unexpected closures, impacts to utilities, and other construction-related incidents. We try to inform you via email/social media as quickly as possible when this happens. If you have a project near your home or on your usual commute, please sign up for the “Notify Me
” on the corresponding project page on our website. It is the fastest way for us to share current information. There is also contact information for the respective project if you have questions or concerns. Lastly, for the safety of our staff and contractors, please adhere to the posted signage. 4th of July

. We look forward to being together again for one of our favorite events of the year! Follow-Up
- What a wonderful Memorial Day Ceremony. Thank you to our Parks & Recreation Department, Chanhassen American Legion Post #580, and the hundreds in attendance. It was a powerful day remembering and honoring those who gave their life for our great country.
- Ordinance Amendments: On Monday, May 24th, City Council rejected (3-2 vote against) the amendment to allow boats, campers, RV’s to be stored in residential driveways. Residents are still allowed to store such items in their side/back yard. City Council approved (3-2 vote in favor) allowing 4 chickens on lot sizes less than 1-acre.
- The City Council received a significant number of emails regarding these ordinance amendments. So while you may not have heard back from Council members, do know that every email was read and taken into consideration. We appreciate your advocacy.
It was great to meet so many of you this past Monday. Wishing you all a great start to the summer!
