Dear Chanhassen Residents,
Three-year Law Enforcement Review
On Monday, Lieutenant Pearce and Sergeant Stahn presented law enforcement’s three-year review. With the tragic death of Daunte Wright, the timing of this presentation became even more meaningful. In reviewing the data, it was reassuring to confirm that the Carver County Sheriff’s Office goes well beyond the state-mandated training requirements. Additionally, the Sheriff’s Office has a mental health professional embedded within the department and available to go on mental health calls. This recent approach has had a significant, positive impact.
There are a number of crucial data points highlighting the impacts of Covid-19, the emphasis on community outreach, and the upcoming implementation of body-worn cameras, so I encourage you to review the presentation in its entirety at www.ci.chanhassen.mn.us/3yearreview
