[ARCHIVED] Xcel Energy Converting Traditional Street Lights in Chanhassen to LEDs

Xcel Energy logo.PNG

Eligible Xcel Energy-owned traditional street lights in Chanhassen are in the process of being retrofitted with new LED light fixtures, a project that should be completed by the end of this year. The replacements will reduce energy use and costs for consumers and have equivalent wattage to the previous lights but appear brighter.

The wattage of the new lights are 30-40W LED (3,500 Lumens and 3,000K). In addition, the new fixtures feature open sides to eliminate glare, allowing the fixture to be dark-sky compliant.

Any questions or concerns should be addressed to Xcel Project Coordinator Angela Adesoro at angela.m.adesoro@xcelenergy.com or 651-434-4636.
