Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) is making improvements to aging and deteriorating regional sanitary sewer facilities that serve homes and businesses in Chanhassen. The project is scheduled to take place from January 2020 to July 2021.
The project will use the cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) method which installs an inverted liner into the existing pipe structure. This method minimizes surface impacts and reduces costs when compared to a full pipe replacement. Maintenance holes will be repaired or replaced as necessary. Excavations will be needed at several maintenance holes to install the new sewer liner and as part of rehabilitation. A temporary conveyance system will be installed above ground for use during the CIPP installation.
