Despite a career that only lasted a short six years, Patsy Cline assumed the legendary status of “Queen of Country Music,” a position that all women of country have been measured against. She helped break down the gender barrier in the country music genre. In the 1960s, Patsy joined the cast of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Despite her Decca Records hit “I Fall to Pieces,” she was quite outspoken and had a tough persona. Patsy said, “The one thing I wanted to do more than anything else was to sing country music.” Following the program about the amazing life of this country queen, we will enjoy a salad luncheon featuring a variety of salads, bread, dessert, and coffee.
