Please join us for an Open House for the 2040 Comprehensive Plan to share your comments. The plan is designed to serve as a guide for the local decision-making process. The cornerstone of such a comprehensive planning process is the development and adoption of goals and policies, which identify the desired qualities and overall vision for the future of the community. These goals and policies are based on the needs of the city along with the unique characteristics and values of the community. The Comp Plan is designed to be a flexible tool, which can be adapted to new policies to attain stated goals.

We will enjoy a tour of Fort Snelling from the comfort of our bus. Fort Snelling staff will ride with us during the tour, giving a detailed history of the site, as well as sharing stories of people from Fort Snelling’s past. The tour route explores the restored 19th century stone fort as well as the “Upper Post” where soldiers were stationed during the 20th century. Along the way, we will meet a history player who will step on our bus and talk about medical care at Fort Snelling during World War I. After the tour, we will stop by the visitor’s center where you can watch the short film “Where the Waters Meet: Stories of Fort Snelling.” Following the tour, we will have lunch at Buca di Beppo in St. Paul, where we will enjoy a variety of Italian
favorites featuring a mixed green and Caesar salad, spaghetti marinara, fettuccine alfredo, chicken parmigiana, fresh baked house bread, and a beverage.
