Join us at our annual tea luncheon. We will start with a style show from the 1930s followed by a delicious lunch, tea, and dessert. The dresses at the beginning of the 30s still had the carefree 20s look, but that style vanished quickly as the mood of the country darkened with the depression. Skirt lengths dropped significantly and “femininity” was back in. Hollywood was a big influence on fashion, and glamorous
stars helped ease the drudgery of the economic burden. It was the golden age of Hollywood with elegant stars such as Joan Crawford and Ginger Rogers. Fashion was cool and sleek. Fabrics for evening wear were luxurious, draped beautifully, and looked perfectly luminous on screen and off. You’ll see the full gamut of different styles popular during this decade.
