Does your 8 to 12-year-old child want to stay home alone after school? Prepare kids to stay safe at home and in the community. Get your children trained with SafeKids 101 and both of you will feel more confident about their safety at home and in the
community. This program is chock-full of important safety principles. This program teaches what all parents want their children to know about safety. Topics include:
Answering the door or the telephone. Basic first aid: burns, wounds, and bandaging; poisonings; and choking emergencies. Storm and fire emergency training. Dog emergencies: four steps to staying safe. Stranger danger: straight talk with honest answers. Fun, safe activities to do home alone. Creating fun, healthy, safe snacks.

This the last day to submit your Family Scavenger Hunt boxes! We’re sending you and your family on a hunt for 50 things to collect and photos to take that will exercise your brain and your funny bone. When you’ve checked off all the items on the list, decorate a shoe box with your newly found treasures. Bring your boxes to city hall by Friday, October 13 for a chance to win a prize!
