A Message From The Mayor

Dear Chanhassen Residents,

Wishing you all a happy and safe 4th of July weekend!

While celebrations may differ this year from years past, I am proud of our City Council, City Staff, Fire Department and Carver County Sheriff’s Office for working together to make sure we celebrate our great nation. We never wavered and will be holding our fabulous fireworks display Saturday night at 10pm. Lake Ann Park and Greenwood Shores Park will be closing at 5pm to adhere to the Governor's "Stay Safe" Executive Order, but we hope you can enjoy the sights and sounds from wherever you are celebrating or view the live feed on our website.

With appreciation to the Rotary Club of Chanhassen, we will also be having the annual historic plane flyover at 2:30pm. The T-6 Thunder will begin their flight in the southeast corner of Chanhassen, fly over downtown, and continue west. It’s truly a magnificent sight to see WWII era planes fly overhead. It’s another proud Chanhassen 4th of July Celebration tradition.

We have all been faced with many new challenges, much uncertainty, high emotion, and thought-provoking questions these past few months. I do believe that there is work to be done as we can always find ways to grow and improve as a nation, state, and city. But let me say unequivocally, I love our country, and I am proud to be an American. God Bless the USA!

Warmest Regards,
Mayor Elise Ryan
