Dear Chanhassen Residents,
I hope you are all eagerly anticipating the unofficial kick-off to summer. Before the weekend begins, I’d again like to share a few updates-or as one resident referred to it, my “Friday Fireside Chats.” Thanks for the comedic relief!
City Council Meeting
The City Council will hold its meeting on Tuesday, May 26th at 7pm. For information on the upcoming agenda, please click
here. I’ve repeatedly said, one of the positives to come from operating during the COVID-19 times is the increased communication and connection with everyone. I welcome emails directly to me or if there is an item you’d like addressed during our Council meeting, please submit your question or comment by using this email:

Governor Walz – “Stay Safe” Order
On Wednesday, Governor Walz addressed the state with updates to the “Stay Safe” order. City staff is working diligently to understand the impacts to our local business community. We are in communication with and committed to supporting our businesses however we are able. Per the direction of DEED Commissioner Steve Grove, the City of Chanhassen will be creative in finding solutions to the challenges our businesses face.
Memorial Day
Over the past months, “sacrifice” is a word that is part of many announcements and discussion. However, with Memorial Day on Monday, we pay tribute to the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice. We will miss celebrating with you this year at our Veterans Memorial at City Hall, but as we see our American Flags flying high, please take time to reflect and honor those that gave their lives protecting our freedoms. We are eternally grateful for their service. God Bless America!
I wish everyone a safe and happy Memorial Day Weekend. Continue to get outside, connect with family and friends, and know that together we will persevere.
Stay well, stay safe and stay healthy.
Warmest Regards,
Elise Ryan
Mayor
