Chanhassen Parks & Rec along with MacPhail Center for Music will offer a six-week "Unwrapping Music" Zoom class series starting Monday, January 4 at 6:30pm, part of MacPhail's Music for Life program. Led by teaching artist Andrea Leap, the twice-monthly, hour-long classes in live Zoom class format will feature discussion, audio and visual clips, and live performances to learn about musical styles, performers and genres, exploring the impact of music in our lives, our country, and as part of our history.
Those interested can sign up for a month at a time or for the full six-week series. January's class subjects are "Movie Musicals (Jan.4)" and "On Broadway (Jan. 11)." The classes are offered free through generous grants from Carver County SHIP program and The Chanhassen Memory Cafe. Although the classes are geared toward mature adults, all ages are encouraged to attend and will be an interactive, intergenerational format that will be fun for the whole family! Call the Senior Center at 952.227.1124 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to register.
