The Mosquitoes are Coming...MMCD Begins Treating Area

The Metropolitan Mosquito Control District (MMCD) will be out soon conducting their annual surveillance and treatment activities in an environmentally-sensitive manner to reduce the annoyance of mosquitoes and risk of disease during the warmer months.

Arguably Minnesotans’ favorite time of the year, spring brings flowers, sunshine, and MOSQUITOES! With the warmer weather, the arrival of the unofficial "state bird" in droves is imminent. Fortunately, the Metropolitan Mosquito Control District (MMCD) field staff is on the job and will be out and about in the area with a fleet of trucks and helicopters as they are every year, but this year may be a little more noticeable with so many people at home because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
