Met Council

Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) is responding to a sanitary sewer break that occurred June 20 along Highway 7 near the north end of Lake Minnewashta. As a precaution, MCES posted signs June 21 for no swimming or fishing in the channel between Dartmouth Drive and Washta Bay Court until further notice. Crews stopped the wastewater spill the evening of June 20 and are working to repair the sewer pipe damage. Additional crews are collecting water samples June 21 to see if the spill affected the lake and to what extent. We will post further updates as information becomes available. For more information, please contact Tim O’Donnell at MCES at tim.odonnell@metc.state.mn.us or 651-602-1269.
