Celebrate Arbor Day

While other holidays look to the past, Arbor Day looks to the future!  Help create a tree-rific future for park users by planting trees in Curry Farms Park on Arbor Day!  On May 7, volunteers will plant trees, learns about the importance of tree diversity and help improve our city park at this year's celebration.  Individuals, families and service groups are invited to plant trees that will provide beauty, shade and clean air for our community.  Refreshments, free seedlings and thank you gifts provided to all participants.  Come dressed for weather - rain or shine!

There are many ways you can observe and celebrate this day, but by far, the best way is to plant a tree. For instructions on how, check out this video.

Another idea is to take a walk in the woods; Chanhassen has many trails through beautiful forested areas. While you're out on your walk, have some fun playing Arbor Day bingo. Take a look at the trees along your walk and maybe you'll notice some new ones you hadn't noticed before!

More arts and crafts fun:
  • Collect leaves, brush some tempera paint on them and make leaf prints
  • Make bark rubbings...See if you can identify the tree by the bark!
