Chanhassen's annual celebration is a year-round topic of conversation in the community and is renowned throughout the state. Participation levels in regular years top 10,000 people per day.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis and in the interest of the health and safety of our community, many components of the 2020 July 4th Celebration have been necessarily cancelled. The modified schedule of events for the 2020 celebration is as follows:

Monday, June 29th-Saturday, July 4th

Business Expo & Coupon Book--Thank you to the SouthWest Metro Chamber of Commerce for presenting  a free coupon book and online business expo!
Chalk-It-Up Drawing Contest
  • Compete in a chalk-drawing contest as an individual or in groups! Submit a photo of your chalk drawing for a chance to win prizes for most difficult, most creative, and most colorful

Saturday, July 4th 

9am-1pmChanhassen Farmers’ Market 
  • The Chanhassen Farmers’ Market will be held in City Center Park and features local farmers, artists and businesses. Please plan to wear a mask when visiting the Farmers’ Market

Historic Plane Flyover  
  • Produced by Rotary Club of Chanhassen
  • Historic planes will make their way over Chanhassen with an increased flight time and more passes than in previous years. The planes will begin their flight from southeast Chanhassen near Lake Riley, move up toward downtown Chanhassen, and then toward the west

  • There will be no general seating or parking in Lake Ann Park or Greenwood Shores Park to view the fireworks display this year. Please enjoy the fireworks with your family and friends at home or on Facebook live. The live video of the fireworks display will be available on the City Facebook page here
  • If you are unable to watch the fireworks via Facebook, the fireworks can also be seen by watching the city’s cable channel 107.2 or by clicking here
  • Lake Ann Park and Greenwood Shores Park will be CLOSED beginning at 5pm on July 4th. The parks will be closed to prepare for the fireworks display, in compliance with the current Executive Order from Governor Walz. Please plan to exit the parks prior to 5pm
  • The trail between Lake Ann Park and Greenwood Shores Park will be closed on July 4th
